Coralie, this is my first visit to your darling blog & I just love the look of your recipes! How do you do that? Each one looks just like an old fashioned recipe card from my ancient box.
I agree with Kelly above...it sounds just like the Publix breakfast bread that I bought when we lived in FL. Yum!!
Thanks for sharing & for stopping by my spot & thank you, too for the nice comment you left. I appreciated it very much & I've enjoyed my visit to your blog, too. You have TONS of great looking recipes so I'll be back! (a la Arnold)
Thanks for coming by my blog and your kind comments. Your fruit bread sounds yummy...like it would be good with coffee or tea. I'll be coming by often to check out your recipes.
Some of you have been asking about how I get my recipes ready to post. I've been going to do this for years and finally have time now that I'm retired! I love collage art, working with fancy papers, and all the charms of anything vintage, including recipes. I already have the recipes from my mom's and my stashes so I cut 4"x6" cards from scrapbooking paper stock and have a ball cutting and pasting and scanning and posting. This, along with sharing great vintage recipes, is a great way for me to enjoy more than one creative activity at a time. Gotta' keep those creative juices satisfied. Thanks so much everyone for all your fabulous comments on my vintage recipes! I love hearing from you, one and all!!! Hugs, Coralie
Love the retro look of your blog--I've been thinking about getting into some scrapping/paper crafting, this is all so cute--and the kinds of recipes I grew up with!
YULEKAKE....my husbands grandmother made this every Christmas. Very yummy spread w/cream cheese and served with hot tea or coffee. Thanks for the recipe! Love your blog dear lady!!
Mmmmm. That sounds delish! You've got some great recipes on your blog. I'm going to follow both of your blogs. My daughter has found a new love - baking, and I am trying to decorate. I've been snooping - oh, I loooove your work space!!! Your blogs bring back memories of my childhood. Thanks so much for stopping by. I'm going to go do some more snooping.
As a lover of all things vintage, I write about our cottage home, inspirational decorating, vintage finds, thrifty buys, and old-time recipes. I have many additional interests such as reading, writing, blogging, arts and crafts, and quilting...I write about these interests as well as about family, friends, shelties, nature and hobbies.

ReplyDeleteWonderful recipe, Coralie! And I love that image--fabulous!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it give you a chill when you see lard in a recipe? I know my grandmother cooked with it...but I never have.

I wonder if this is anything like Publix's Breakfast Bread? I've become totally addicted to it the last few years. Perfect with tea!
