I've been thinking and remembering about date bars, and had no good recipe. After my dad's death, my mom and I would make these on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy with cups of hot tea...feet up on a shared footstool, in front of a blazing fireplace, watching a movie on our black and white tv! Wonderful to have another recipe to relive those days again.
