ooh, this is like my old classic Fanny Farmer recipe but richer. Someone gave me several cans of applesauce - so I'll make many cakes. Sometimes if I don't have many eggs, I add some molasses and reduce the white sugar. It's hard to mess up this classic!
As a lover of all things vintage, I write about our cottage home, inspirational decorating, vintage finds, thrifty buys, and old-time recipes. I have many additional interests such as reading, writing, blogging, arts and crafts, and quilting...I write about these interests as well as about family, friends, shelties, nature and hobbies.
My mom used to make this! Now I'm going to make it! Thanks for bringing back memories and for sharing the recipe!~Ames
