Thanks for posting this. Long before Macy's came to Detroit, also before Marshall Fields and Dayton-Hudson, these stores were originally J.L.Hudson's and were THE place to shop. Their restaurants served a Maurice salad that hasn't been equaled anywhere else. I will try this dressing and julienne the ham, turkey and cheese and hope to come close enough to make a happy memory for my taste buds.
As a lover of all things vintage, I write about our cottage home, inspirational decorating, vintage finds, thrifty buys, and old-time recipes. I have many additional interests such as reading, writing, blogging, arts and crafts, and quilting...I write about these interests as well as about family, friends, shelties, nature and hobbies.
