I love stuff like that served on toast. Heavily buttered toast, of course. So many cans of stuff! When I was young one of the first things my mother taught me to make was bechamel sauce. She said, I'd never have to buy 'prepared junk' if I knew how to make bechamel sauce. After all, if you can make bechamel, you are on the way to lump free gravies, sauces, puddings, cream puffs! I wonder what mother's teach their kids to cook now? Microwaveable Mac & Cheese?
As a lover of all things vintage, I write about our cottage home, inspirational decorating, vintage finds, thrifty buys, and old-time recipes. I have many additional interests such as reading, writing, blogging, arts and crafts, and quilting...I write about these interests as well as about family, friends, shelties, nature and hobbies.
Oooooh, that sounds SO good!
ReplyDeleteA perfectly charming dish to use up that Sunday fried chicken!
