I'm actually making a chicken and wild rice soup for our "Christmas" tomorrow. It isn't much different than the above recipe really, it just has more cream:)
Comfort food! That's what it is! It only got to 8 degrees here yesterday, and I think it's going to be 21 today. A heat wave! Have a great weekend Coralie! Carol
Ooooh! A recipe for a stew hen! Since we raise our own meat, we have stew hens. I collect old cookbooks to find gems like this. BTW, thanks for stopping by the Antiquity Oaks blog and inviting me over! What a great find! You should stop by again today, because I'm having a give-away (your choice of our yarn or goat milk soap).
My WI husband is not a fan of wild rice but I have some left over from another recipe. I emailed this to him, and have a feeling this will be Sunday dinner here in our Georgia home. Thank you for the recipe!
Oh,that looks wonderful--I bet it would cook well in Oregon, too! (Grin) Have a wonderful weekend.

Perfect fare, for a chilly day.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, comfort!
I think this will taste as good here in the PNW as it does in Michigan! Have a great Foodie Friday.
