mmm... I've never made salmon loaf with so much milk. It sounds luxurious. I live near the ocean where one can cheaply buy the fish leftover from fileting. They sell it for "broth" but I poach it (outdoors!) then flake off all the fish for salads and such. A filet is lovely, but the flavorful fish next to the bone is good too.

ReplyDeleteI've made salmon patties, but not a loaf. We would actually love this one!
ReplyDeletedo you think there is a substitute for the bread crumbs?

Lydia,
ReplyDeleteMy mother always used crushed saltines and they were delicious!
I also use saltines. I prefer it to bread crumbs, even when home made. (Store bought breadcrumbs just ain't right!) Cold salmon loaf sandwich = YUM.
